Our client is an innovative, internationally recognised organisation that partners with leading global brands, delivering specialist technology solutions and consultancy services across a range of industries. They are now looking to recruit an ambitious Business Development Manager to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building lasting customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and working closely with technical teams to deliver commercially successful projects.
The role will be approximately 75% account management and growth of existing customers, with 25% focused on developing new business opportunities.
Main Responsibilities- Managing and developing a portfolio of key national and international accounts
- Building long-term relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities within existing and emerging markets
- Managing commercial bids, proposals and quotations from enquiry through to completion
- Working closely with engineering and technical teams to deliver customer solutions
- Developing strategic account plans and identifying future growth opportunities
- Preparing commercial forecasts, sales pipelines and performance reports
- Monitoring pricing, commercial performance and project progress
- Representing the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure projects are delivered successfully
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
- Keeping up to date with market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies
- Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager or Senior Sales role
- Strong track record of growing existing customer relationships whilst developing new business
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities
- Comfortable interpreting commercial data, forecasts and sales performance
- Full UK driving licence
- Degree educated or equivalent would be advantageous
- Experience selling technical, engineering, consultancy or technology-based solutions
- Experience working with international customers
- Exposure to manufacturing, automotive, engineering or other technical sectors
- Experience responding to RFQs, tenders or commercial proposals
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.
- Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
- Hours: Full-time.
- Travel: Regular travel across the UK with occasional international travel.
