Our client is looking to give a fantastic opportunity to grow into a Customs Operative. This will be a pivotal role ensuring that international shipments comply with customs regulations and are processed across borders. The ideal candidate will have been used to working within a bonded warehouse and have some knowledge of customs clearances and would like to grow from the warehouse to customs. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a growing global logistics provider that is committed to operational excellence and development within both company and staff.
Duties for the Customs Operative:
- Working within the warehouse team and internal teams to gather required information.
- Understanding the bonded warehouse environment.
- Prepare and submit accurate import and export declarations.
- Utilise in house systems to process customs entries.
- Learn and stay up to date about UK and international customs regulations.
- Working with HMRC regulations and other relevant authorities.
Skills required for the Customs Operative:
- Working experience within a Bonded warehouse environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail across the board on goods in and out and high end products.
- Proficient in using a computer (Excel, Word, keen to learn a new system).
- Attention to detail on delays on stock entering the warehouse and leaving.
- Ability to work under pressure and at busy times.
Hours of work for the Customs Operative: Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
Customs Operative location: Biggleswade
