Job Overview
Maintenance Engineer/Assistant for Point A hotels located at Paddington, Kensington, Canary Wharf and Waterloo.
The role supports the maintenance manager and reports to the hotel manager, working on a rota-based schedule of 40 hours per week, including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Assist the maintenance manager and cluster maintenance manager.
- Act as the first point of contact for reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with Front Desk and Housekeeping teams to carry out reactive maintenance.
- Use the computerised planned maintenance and compliance platform.
- Prioritise workload and maintain a healthy and safe environment for guests and staff.
- Take receipt of deliveries and manage contractor sign‑in (permit to work).
- Tasks and Duties
- AC filter cleaning
- Descaling showers and taps
- Silicone and grouting
- Electrical repairs (gear‑for‑gear)
- Plumbing duties (sink tap, mixer, trap repairs)
- Water temperature checks
- Daily building compliance checks
- Monthly, quarterly and annual PPMs
- Reactive tasks and repairs (complaints, housekeeping and front desk)
- Managing a varied subcontract team to deliver cost‑effective solutions
Qualifications
Proven record of delivering well maintained and safe environments in a guest‑focused setting.
Hands‑on experience in reactive maintenance tasks.
Ability to prioritise workload, manage a varied subcontract team and use maintenance planning software.
