Kettlethorpe High School - the last local authority-maintained high school in Wakefield – is looking for a School Business Manager to operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team and take charge of the administrative team that is the school’s backbone.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and management of the school’s strategic and business resources.
- Supporting the school in its primary function of teaching and learning.
- Operating as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Assisting the Headteacher in achieving objectives identified in the School Improvement Plan.
Skills and Experience
- A formal business or accounting qualification or other relevant qualification/experience.
- Experience of budgeting, costing, drafting fund proposals, monitoring contract performance and overseeing recruitment.
- A high level of commercial acumen and business expertise.
- A proven track record in project management.
- An extremely analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to balance conflicting priorities.
- Line management experience of a large team.
- Significant experience in financial management including managing budgets, composition of financial reports and monitoring of expenditure.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting complex issues and using judgement to develop long term, sustainable solutions.
- Experience in communicating complex information both orally and in report writing in a clear, articulate, balanced and succinct way, tailored to the recipient.
