Project Officer to join the Legal Services team at a pivotal moment in its journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing, scoping and allocating pro bono legal projects between international development partners and legal partners efficiently and in required timescales.
- Quality assuring projects and deliverables to ensure stakeholder needs are met.
- Managing feedback and progress reviews in relation to A4ID project stakeholders.
- Coordinating learning, thought leadership and training outputs and activities, including briefings, publications, training and learning events.
- Building new partnerships with development organisations via direct outreach.
- Supporting in the management of A4ID’s existing network of legal experts and expanding the network by engaging with new legal experts.
- Assisting with trialling online pro bono platforms, such as Paladin and Justice Connect.
- Coordinating the recruitment, line management and training of volunteers.
- Supporting relevant marketing activities, including increasing the visibility of A4ID’s services at events, developing external communications and material for social media, and drafting case studies and related communications (e. g. presentations and website articles).
- Drafting and scoping relevant applications and proposals to income generation activities.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with contributing legal partners.
Skills and Experience
- Law degree (in any jurisdiction).
- Four years of experience working in a legal setting, including law firms or legal charities.
- Strong experience of working independently and delivering tasks in a timely manner.
- Previous brokerage experience (ideally in a legal environment).
- Excellent outreach and engagement skills.
- Relevant IT skills, such as a working knowledge of project management systems, CRMs and cloud-based systems (e. g. MS Office 365, Salesforce, and Asana).
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders, such as clients, funders or service users, including at external events.
- Confident and self‑motivated.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
- Ability to work flexibly, manage a varied workload, and work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Understanding of international development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Salary
£33,000 – £38,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
