The Lifescape Project
Point 13 Jobs is looking for an ambitious and passionate litigator to join the Lifescape Project, a small but growing UK‑registered charity that protects and restores wild landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Director of Legal and partners to devise the overall litigation strategy and identify new opportunities to bring legal challenges.
Providing line management of the Legal Project Officer (Litigation) and sharing line management responsibilities for the trainee secondee.
Collaborating with the Managing Lawyer (Rewilding Law) to understand legal barriers to rewilding which may benefit from legal interventions.
General case management of legal actions, including instructing, managing and working closely with external counsel and managing other NGOs involved in legal actions.
Providing detailed legal research to build case theories in the UK and EU.
Legal drafting of pre‑action correspondence and pleadings.
Critically analysing relevant legislative and policy proposals and drafting associated responses to government consultations, as well as technical reports, giving guidance to NGOs on their correct application.
Working with other NGOs to keep up to date with developments which may impact the work and identify opportunities to use litigation to tackle core issues.
Taking an active role in developing and implementing communication strategies to publicise the litigation projects.
Skills and Experience
A Law degree and UK legal professional qualification.
6+ years practising as a litigator in the UK, including management of litigation (highly desirable).
Experience managing multiple legal projects, often with competing and time‑sensitive deadlines.
Experience managing junior members of staff as well as highly skilled external contributors, including external counsel.
A high level of self‑motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, interacting with lawyers and non‑lawyers with kindness and respect.
Demonstrated rigorous legal analysis and drafting skills.
Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to speak on behalf of Lifescape at official meetings, stakeholder forums and other relevant public events.
The ability to build productive working relationships and collaborative partnerships with civil society and national civil servants, politicians, academics and other key players in environmental law.
Full pension.
Performance‑based annual salary increases available.
Flexible working can be agreed with the successful candidate, as can temporary international remote work outside country of residence.
36 days’ annual leave (28 not including public holidays).
Expenses‑paid annual Lifescape retreat and two in‑person staff meetings per year.

Salary: £53,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Contract and hours: Full‑time and permanent.
Location: Remote working with some UK and international travel.
Start date: The role will commence as soon as possible.
