St Paul’s Girls’ School – an extraordinary and historic institution focused on nurturing creativity, curiosity, and a love of academic discovery – is seeking a Drama Department Manager to provide integral administrative and organisational support to its busy and creative Drama Department.
Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day administrative management of the Drama Department, acting as the first point of contact for parents, pupils and staff.
- Supporting the Director of Drama with departmental operations, correspondence and diary management.
- Administering LAMDA examinations, including lesson scheduling, liaising with visiting teachers, communicating with families, exam entries, fees, payments and results recording.
- Coordinating theatre trips and drama events, including bookings, risk paperwork, parent communication and publication on school communication channels.
- Preparing promotional copy and publicity materials for drama events and performances.
- Assisting with budget administration, tracking expenditure and liaising with the Bursary, including trip and exam charges.
- Managing room bookings, catering and logistical arrangements for rehearsals and events.
- Managing the box office for school productions, including ticket setup, sales tracking and supplies.
- Coordinating front-of-house arrangements.
- Obtaining performance rights and licences for productions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an administrative or coordination role and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organised, accurate and detail-focused.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising professionally with parents, pupils, staff and external contacts.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Proactive, reliable and able to work independently.
- Flexible approach, including willingness to support evening or peak-period activities linked to productions or events.
- Professional presence and confidence to work with authority when required.
- Experience in a school, education or theatre/arts environment (desirable).
- Familiarity with events, productions, box-office or front-of-house operations (desirable).
Salary and Hours
- Salary: Competitive and based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- Hours: 40 hours per week (9.00 am – 6.00 pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch), term time + 3 weeks (39 weeks per year). Some flexibility is required to support occasional evening and weekend performances/events.
