AllChild is an award-winning early intervention charity that helps children and young people build the relationships and skills they need to flourish in their schools and their communities. The charity now seeks Associate Link Workers, Link Workers and Senior Link Workers to help deliver tailored support programmes to children and their families in the Manchester area.
Key Responsibilities
- Working and building trusted relationships with a cohort of 30–40 children and young people across partner schools.
- Supporting students through one-to-one engagement, small-group sessions and accredited group interventions.
- Creating and coordinating individual support plans based on students’ strengths and needs.
- Coordinating specialist support in school through AllChild delivery partners, including local charities and community organisations.
- Joining up the local system of support around children and young people and enabling access to support and opportunities, including Early Help and voluntary sector provision.
- Supporting students in setting and achieving individual goals that improve outcomes, attendance and engagement at school.
- Engaging and building relationships with parents, carers, teachers and school staff, as well as across council services.
Skills and Experience
- Someone who cares deeply about children and young people and wants to work alongside them, their families and schools over time.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with children and families from a range of backgrounds.
- Experience supporting children and young people in schools (with teaching experience, including QTS, welcome) or in a family support, social care, youth work, mentoring or community work context.
- Depending on the role, between one and four years of frontline delivery experience with children.
- Experience delivering interventions for children with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and a willingness to get stuck in.
- A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- The ability to use data to inform and plan work with children and families.
- An understanding of safeguarding policies and the ability to set and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Thoughtful, proactive and motivated by long-term impact.
