The Opportunity
We are entering an exciting phase of growth, with multiple large‑scale, high‑profile litigations underway across jurisdictions. To support this expansion, we are seeking a Costs Associate to join our internal costs team, providing specialist and technical costs support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare case budgets, costs estimates, Precedent H budgets, and costs claims
- Ensure compliance with all relevant rules, including the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
- Conduct costs negotiations where required
- Liaise with fee earners, clients, and third parties
- Take ownership of costs‑related matters on assigned cases
- Support the wider team on a variety of costs issues
- Undertake additional duties as required by partners or senior management
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified Costs Lawyer with strong hands‑on experience in all aspects of costs assessment and costs management, to include drafting bills of costs, statements of costs, and budgets/estimates
- Monitoring and managing costs throughout the lifecycle of a case
- Solid understanding and practical application of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), particularly in relation to costs
- Experience in preparing and progressing costs claims
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail together with analytical and organisational skills
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and work collaboratively within a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

- Exposure to group litigation or large‑scale claims
- Commercial awareness and understanding litigation strategy
