Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Bid Manager role located in Uxbridge, West London or Irlam, Manchester, reporting to the Pre-Construction Lead. The responsibilities include leading the development and management of bids, coordinating bid processes, and preparing high-quality proposals. The Bid Manager will manage all aspects of bid submission, ensuring compliance and accuracy, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines and deliver successful bids. The role also involves monitoring tender opportunities and identifying strategies to improve responses and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Bid Preparation, Bid Writing, and creating compelling, tailored proposals
  • Experience with Bid Management, including organizing and submitting bids within set deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of Bid Processes and standards, including compliance requirements
  • Strong skills in Proposal Management and collaborative delivery with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven track record in securing contracts; experience in infrastructure or related industries is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in a dynamic environment

Essential Skills & Experience in our ideal candidate

  • Experience in the Rail & Civil Engineering sectors.
  • Expertise in Bid Writing and Bid Processes, Bid Preparation, Bid Management, and Proposal Management on project & framework tenders, PQQs and EOIs.
  • Excellent English business written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills to effectively manage timelines and collaborate with internal teams.
  • An energetic, fast learning, 'can-do' attitude with good attention to detail and presentation skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for bid and proposal creation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft & Adobe suite).
  • Fluent use of verbal and written business English.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients, internal and external stakeholders whilst understanding their needs.
  • Offer creative ideas to the bid process, as well as company branding, continuity of brand, and adoption of novel ideas.

Desirable experience

  • Energy, Utilities or Networks sector experience.
  • Experience in use of or adoption of advanced software, such as bespoke AI tendering packages.
