Pod‑Trak is seeking a motivated Planner to support the development and management of project programmes across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure works. Working within the Pre‑Construction team, you’ll help ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time, coordinating with estimating, design, and delivery teams to provide accurate planning and progress updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Support tender planning activities and the preparation of bid programmes
- Work with project managers and engineers to monitor progress and update schedules
- Analyse scope, constraints, and dependencies to identify critical paths and sequencing
- Assist in producing planning reports, progress dashboards, and earned value data
- Maintain accurate records of programme updates and variations
- Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning
- Support planning reviews and client meetings with clear, data‑driven insights
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain input on programme durations and milestones
- Ensure alignment with Pod‑Trak’s planning procedures and industry best practices
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Planner or Assistant Planner within rail, civils, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to interpret project documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Proactive and adaptable approach to problem‑solving
- Self‑motivated, able to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Experience with tender planning and bid support
- Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts
- Understanding of project controls, earned value, and performance monitoring
- Experience in rail systems, utilities, or civil engineering delivery
