Pod-Trak is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Civil Engineer to join our delivery team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop practical experience across a wide range of civil engineering disciplines. You’ll assist with setting out, quality control, and site coordination, working alongside experienced engineers and project managers to deliver infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior engineers with setting out, surveying, and quality inspections on site
- Assist in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Help prepare method statements, risk assessments, and site documentation
- Monitor daily progress and report issues or risks to the site management team
- Maintain accurate site records, test results, and as-built information
- Liaise with designers, subcontractors, and suppliers under supervision
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld at all times
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within project delivery
- Support the preparation of handover documentation and quality submissions
- Participate in professional development and structured learning opportunities
Requirements
- HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Some practical experience gained through internships, placements, or entry-level site roles
- Basic understanding of setting out, surveying, and construction processes
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a fast-paced engineering environment
- Good IT skills (Excel, Word, AutoCAD desirable)
- Valid CSCS card or willingness to obtain
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable
- Knowledge of rail or utilities infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or surveying software
- Awareness of NEC or JCT contract principles
- Commitment to professional development towards EngTech or IEng status
