A fast-growing direct-to-consumer retail business is looking for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to take ownership of its warehouse operation and support the next phase of growth. Established under two years ago, the company has already scaled to over £3m in annual revenue, with strong year-on-year growth driven by a digital-first eCommerce model. Operating within a fast-moving consumer category, the business supplies a wide range of products directly to customers across the UK. With a focus on value, availability, and customer experience, it has quickly built a loyal customer base and reputation for reliable fulfilment. The wider team is currently around 15 people, with six employees based in the warehouse.
This is a key hire as the business transitions from a founder-led, informal setup to a more structured and scalable operation. The successful candidate will work closely with the founders to professionalise the warehouse, improve performance, and implement stronger processes and controls. This is a highly hands-on role, suited to someone who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, leading from the front, and making tangible improvements in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including inbound, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
- Ensure accurate and on-time order fulfilment using the existing WMS (Mintsoft)
- Manage daily coordination with delivery partners to meet collection cut-offs
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse operatives
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability across the team
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements and SOPs
- Improve warehouse layout, productivity, and space utilisation
- Strengthen stock control and inventory accuracy, particularly for high-value items
- Maintain and improve Health & Safety standards and compliance
- Track and report on operational KPIs (e.g., accuracy, throughput, dispatch times)
What makes a successful candidate:
- Experience in a similar warehouse supervisor or team lead role (ideally within a start-up environment)
- Hands-on leadership style, comfortable working on the floor
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, great attention to detail with stock control
- Process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience with warehouse management systems (Mintsoft preferred)
- Ability to introduce structure into a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Confident managing teams in a close-knit or informal setting
- Full permanent right to work in the UK
