We’re working with a fast-growing, privately owned UK business operating in the packaging and food supply space. Our client has recently invested heavily in its people, systems, and data - empowering teams to make better decisions and move quickly in a highly competitive market. Despite continued growth, the company has intentionally retained a family-run, SME culture: agile, commercial, and non-corporate. Decisions are made quickly, ideas are encouraged, and individuals are trusted to own their space.
As part of ongoing investment in the supply chain, they are now looking to appoint a Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to play a key role in shaping how products are sourced, suppliers are managed, and supply chain network supports future growth.
About the role: This is a broad, hands-on role combining commercial procurement with supply chain execution, ideal for someone who enjoys operating end-to-end and having genuine influence. You’ll take ownership of supplier sourcing and procurement activity (with a strong focus on overseas supply), while also overseeing the operational flow of imported and bespoke products through the business. Whilst collaborating closely with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing teams, you’ll also focus on ensuring supply supports differentiation, service levels, and long-term growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Source, onboard, and manage suppliers, with a particular focus on overseas manufacturing partners
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing, and supplier agreements
- Own supplier relationships and performance management
- Oversee imported and bespoke product flows, including lead times, inbound planning, and stock agreements
- Support stock strategy for imported lines to balance availability and risk
- Work closely with sales to identify opportunities to improve product specifications, cost, or differentiation
- Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure smooth handover into ongoing ordering and stock management
- Use data and analytics to improve procurement and supply chain decision-making
