We are partnering with a fast-growing, ambitious consumer goods business within the health and nutrition space. With strong recent growth and a clear vision to evolve into a leading D2C brand, the company is investing heavily in innovation and product experience. As part of this journey, they are hiring a Packaging Technologist to take ownership of packaging strategy across the full supply chain. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to shape packaging from the ground up and make a real commercial and operational impact.

You will act as the subject matter expert for packaging, driving improvements in cost, performance, sustainability, and functionality across a diverse product portfolio.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end development of packaging solutions across flexible plastics, rigid formats, and fibre-based materials, ensuring performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, brand, suppliers, and manufacturing to deliver right-first-time packaging and support successful product launches.
  • Own packaging trials, testing, specifications, and database management, while providing hands-on technical support to manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and drive sustainability initiatives, including recyclability improvements and packaging waste reduction.
In order to be successful in the role:
  • Proven experience as a packaging technologist/ developer role, working with flexible materials (essential).
  • Experience in consumer goods, ideally within a food and beverage environment.
  • Commercially minded with a focus on cost optimisation, efficiency, and end to end project management experience.
  • Degree in Packaging, Materials Science, or similar.
  • Full permanent right to work in the UK.
