Pod Talent is proud to represent this incredible FMCG manufacturer with a strong global presence and reach. This business is in the midst of a large investment programme, installing cutting-edge machinery and expanding capacity to meet growing demand in production and distribution.

As a new Engineering Manager, you will lead a whole engineering function and take ownership of a well-balanced team of maintenance technicians. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will balance people management with getting stuck in on the ground - coordinating maintenance activities, coaching your team, and driving a proactive maintenance culture across high-speed production lines.

This role will suit someone who has stepped up from the tools into team leadership, who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands the balance between keeping production running and building long-term results. You will have autonomy to make an impact, suggest improvements, and develop your team your own way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians through coaching, 1-2-1s, and structured development plans.
  • Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Work hands-on alongside the team to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on high-speed production equipment.
  • Partner with production managers and reliability teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements
  • Mandatory: Proven experience leading or supervising a maintenance team in a manufacturing environment across FMCG, food manufacturing, pharma, or similar high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Non-negotiable: Hands-on maintenance background (electrical and/or mechanical).
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP.
  • Comfortable scaling up to handle complexity and high volumes.
  • Strong communicator who can influence cross-functionally and bring teams on the journey through change.

Why apply?

  • Join a fantastic and modern manufacturing site with genuine investment in people and infrastructure.
  • Employee perks, including free gym membership and heavily subsidised meals.
  • Clear development pathway into reliability, projects, or technical management.
