Location: Hybrid/Remote - On site visits required
Responsibilities:
- Own End-to-End Project Delivery - You’ll oversee the entire pipeline of high-power DC charging depot infrastructure deployment from site survey through design and delivery to final handover.
- Manage Contracts with Confidence - You’ll act as the main administrator for NEC short‑form contracts, handling instructions, compensation events, and payment assessments.
- Coordinate Grid Connections - You’ll work closely with DNOs and IDNOs to secure capacity at scale, managing applications, technical approvals, and delivery of network upgrades.
- Lead Contractor and Supplier Delivery - You’ll appoint and manage civil contractors, electrical installers, and hardware partners, ensuring alignment on scope, programme, cost, and quality.
- Drive Programme Performance - You’ll build and maintain detailed project plans, balancing timelines, dependencies, and cost loading to keep delivery on track.
- Own Financial Outcomes - You’ll manage budgets, procurement, and forecasting, providing clear reporting on cost, value, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure Safety and Quality Standards - You’ll champion HSE best practice across all sites, ensuring full compliance with CDM regulations and internal quality expectations.
- Drive Stakeholder Alignment - You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, DNOs, contractors, and delivery partners to keep projects moving, solve issues quickly, and ensure everyone stays aligned on scope, timelines, and outcomes.
- Manage Risk and Remove Delivery Blockers - You’ll identify project risks early, from grid delays to site conditions and supply chain constraints, and put clear mitigation plans in place to protect programme, cost, and quality.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven Project Delivery Experience - 3+ years of proven project management experience specifically within high-power DC rapid charging depots, utility-scale renewables, or heavy electrical infrastructure. Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, ideally within EV charging, utilities, renewables, or heavy electrical environments.
- NEC Contract Expertise - Hands‑on experience managing NEC contracts, including variations, compensation events, and commercial risk.
- Strong Technical Understanding - Strong understanding of high-power DC charging technology (150kW–400kW+), liquid-cooled cabling, power sharing architectures, BESS and LV/MV distribution systems.
- Grid Connection Knowledge - Familiarity with DNO processes, contestable works, and large-scale power connections.
- Project Management Credentials - Formal certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP, or equivalent practical experience delivering complex programmes.
- HSE & Q Knowledge - Good understanding of site safety regulations (CDM regulations), including Principle Designer and Contractor roles.
- Commercial and Problem-Solving Mindset - Strong commercial acumen to manage contractor rates and equipment procurement under strict contractual frameworks.
- Mobility and Flexibility - Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites nationwide.
