Description
Pod Point is seeking a Product Design Engineer experienced in designing for plastic injection moulding to support its growth in new product development.

Our Ways of Working
We value flexibility, community, and work-life balance through a hybrid model, combining home and office work. Expect to work from our London office approximately 8-12 days per month, and ideally reside within a reasonable commute to Gray\’s Inn Road, London.
Role Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design & Development: Lead the end-to-end design of mechanical systems, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Testing, Validation & Documentation: Oversee mechanical testing, resolve technical challenges, and maintain detailed documentation for traceability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and clear communication of design intent.
- Manufacturing & Prototyping: Apply knowledge of materials and processes to optimize designs for manufacturing, creating and refining prototypes.
- Innovation & Improvement: Explore new tools and technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
- At least 2+ years of industry experience
- Experience designing for plastic injection moulding
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD, simulation, Composer), GD&T, tolerance analysis, and digital rendering tools (e.g., Keyshot, Adobe Suite)
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (injection moulding, CNC, laser cutting)
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM/PLM)
