We’re Pod – one of the UK’s leading EV charging providers, trusted by over 250,000 customers and powering more than 5 million miles every single day. Behind the numbers is a passionate team working together to shape a smarter, more sustainable future. We started off in 2009 as Pod Point, helping people make the switch to electric. Today, we’re leading the way into a smarter energy future. Now part of the EDF Family, a global leader in low‑carbon energy, we're giving people and communities the power to move confidently through electrification.

The Paid Acquisition Manager (PPC & Affiliates) is a key role within Pod’s Acquisition Marketing team, responsible for driving efficient customer acquisition across paid search (Google & Microsoft Ads), affiliate marketing and other acquisition‑led media channels that support full‑funnel performance such as display & video. This role plays a critical part in evolving the team’s approach from lead generation to full‑funnel acquisition. It ensures paid activity is measurable, continuously optimised and increasingly connected to downstream outcomes such as sales & revenue.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own Paid Search Performance – lead strategy and hands‑on execution across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, treating paid search as a core acquisition lever and continually optimising structure, bidding, messaging and landing page alignment to improve ROAS and reduce CAC.
  • Grow and Optimise Affiliates and Partnerships – manage and develop Pod’s affiliate programme, covering partner recruitment, relationship management and commercial optimisation; regularly review partner mix, commission structures and tenancy opportunities to drive efficient, incremental growth.
  • Deliver Acquisition‑led Media Beyond Search – plan, manage and optimise activity across channels such as display and video, supporting funnel progression and conversion efficiency, and contribute to broader multi‑channel initiatives spanning targeting, creative development, measurement and post‑campaign analysis.
  • Lead Experimentation and Testing – own and execute structured experimentation roadmaps across paid acquisition, identifying under‑utilised channels, new opportunities and scalable growth levers; build clear hypotheses and commercial cases to validate incremental impact.
  • Drive Insight through Measurement and Forecasting – produce high‑quality, data‑led performance reporting with actionable insights to refine campaign strategies; own channel forecasts to support budget planning, pacing and allocation decisions.
  • Stay up to date with the Market – monitor competitor activity, platform updates and wider market dynamics, and use these insights to inform strategy, messaging and testing priorities.
  • Collaborate Cross‑functionally – work closely with creative and brand teams, ecommerce, product, tech, analytics and external agencies to ensure paid activity aligns with wider business goals, supporting effective conversion journeys and delivering a cohesive end‑to‑end customer journey.
  • Support Robust Tracking and Measurement – partner with analytics and tech teams to ensure reliable conversion tracking and measurement frameworks are in place, proactively flagging issues and contributing to solutions.
  • Work with Pace and Flexibility – move comfortably between rapid exploration, structured iteration, and detailed polish, adapting the approach based on the problem at hand.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Hands‑on Paid Acquisition Experience – proven experience in a paid acquisition or PPC role, with a strong track record of driving customer acquisition through paid search and other acquisition‑led media such as video and display.
  • Deep Paid Search Expertise – strong practical experience in Google Ads, ideally with Microsoft Ads, including account structure, bidding strategies, creative messaging, audience strategy and landing page alignment.
  • Strong Technical Experience – comfortable collaborating on conversion tracking, event set‑up and measurement frameworks; bonus if experienced in Google Tag Manager.
  • Affiliate and Partnership Management – experience managing affiliate programmes, including partner recruitment, relationship management and performance optimisation.
  • Strong Analytical Capability – strong proficiency in GA4 and Excel, regularly pulling, exploring and interpreting event‑level and funnel data to understand user behaviour, channel contribution and optimisation opportunities, even when data is imperfect.
  • Forecasting and Commercial Thinking – experience building and using forecasts to guide planning, pacing and investment decisions.
  • Experimentation Mindset – experience designing and executing structured tests and A/B experiments with clear hypotheses and learnings.
  • Collaborative Communication – excellent communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What's in it for you?

  • Access for you and up to 5 family/friends to the ‘UnMind’ wellbeing platform.
