We’re looking for friendly, reliable bar staff to join our Snooker Hall. If you enjoy working with people, can keep your cool when it’s busy, and don’t mind a bit of banter with the regulars, you’ll fit in well here. This is a traditional, locals’ snooker hall. Nothing fancy (it’s a work in progress) but clean, welcoming, and full of character.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serving drinks and bar snacks (no cooking, just the important stuff).
  • Keeping the bar clean, organised, and running smoothly.
  • Providing prompt and friendly service.
  • Handling cash and card payments accurately using the till system.
  • Restocking supplies and staying on top of general bar upkeep.
  • Collecting glasses.
  • Changing the barrels when required.

What we are looking for:

  • A positive, approachable attitude and good communication skills.
  • Previous bar experience.
  • Basic maths skills and confidence using a calculator (nothing too traumatic).
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and productive during quieter times.
  • Good time management and a bit of initiative.
  • A job role with responsibility and the ability to open up and close the business and be confident to work alone.
  • Someone who can balance professionalism with a sense of humour.

The role:

  • 15 hours a week.
  • Friday & Saturday 12-5:30 or 5:30-11
  • Sunday 12-5 or 5-10

The shift pattern will vary over the weekend and flexibility is essential. Working in a proper, old-school snooker hall with a loyal crowd of regulars. It’s not glamorous, but it’s friendly, straightforward, and never dull. Some people underestimate what it means to work behind a bar. It’s not just serving drinks — it’s hard work that takes dedication, pride, and the ability to take initiative across a range of responsibilities. We’re not just another place to grab a drink. For many of our customers, this is somewhere familiar and important — a place to feel welcome, enjoy a pint, read the paper, or simply have a chat. Whether it’s a quiet cuppa, a catch‑up with friends, or a game of pool or snooker, the atmosphere we create matters. Our staff play a key role in that experience. We’re looking for people who understand the value of good service, who can think for themselves, and who take pride in what they do. If you enjoy working with people, have a good sense of humour, and aren’t afraid of hard work, we’d be glad to hear from you.
