About the role

In this role, you will embed yourself across our supported accommodation and floating support services in Newport, you will build trust and proactively supporting young people to realise their worth and unlock their true potential.

You’ll work directly with young people to build confidence and develop life and work skills. You’ll deliver engaging workshops and one-to-one coaching to support employability and pathways into the green economy, while creating opportunities through placements and volunteering. You’ll also build strong partnerships with employers and community organisations and provide ongoing support to help individuals from all backgrounds thrive in sustained employment as part of a compassionate, values-led team.

You’ll collaborate closely with other Employability Work Coaches. Placement Coordinators, and work alongside colleagues across housing, regeneration to provide a joined-up, person-centred approach. Your role is a key part of helping young people in Support move towards meaningful, sustainable employment – making a positive difference to both people and the planet.

Skills and experience needed:

You’ll have experience supporting young people facing additional barriers and take a coaching, strengths-based approach to build confidence and unlock potential. You’ll be a strong communicator who can build relationships, stay organised and support people through change. You’ll bring knowledge of community development, employability or green skills, alongside a positive, inclusive and empathetic mindset.

It’s a bonus if you’ve delivered 1:1 or group support, understand green jobs or sustainability, or bring lived experience or a strong insight into the challenges young people face today.
