We're hiring for a Senior Medical Writer to join a global healthcare agency within their medical communications division. This permanent role involves leading project teams to deliver diverse medical communications and medical affairs materials for pharmaceutical and medical technology clients. You will be responsible for content leadership and project oversight, ensuring all work meets specific scientific standards and client requirements. The position offers a salary of £50,000 per annum, a discretionary profit-share bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. This role is hybrid, and can be based in Manchester, Bristol, Cambridge, or London. Following successful completion of a probationary period, you can work from home 50% of the time. During probation, WFH is ~1 day per week.
What you'll be doing
- Content Leadership: Lead the development of scientific materials for publications and medical affairs accounts, including manuscripts, abstracts, and medical education content, ensuring all deliverables are tailored to the intended audience.
- Quality Oversight: Act as a point of quality control by reviewing the work of team members and providing feedback to maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Client Engagement: Manage regular interactions with clients to provide strategic advice at project initiation and maintain professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
The experience you'll need
- MedComms Agency Experience: Professional medical writing experience within a medical communications agency setting, ideally at Senior Medical Writer level.
- Scientific Credentials: A degree-level qualification in a scientific discipline, such as biology, chemistry, pharmacy, or medicine.
- Team Coordination: Proven ability to lead project components, delegate tasks effectively, and manage multiple demands within a team environment.
