As a Finance Assistant within the Rents team, you will play an important role in supporting the administration and processing of rent ledger transactions. You'll help ensure rent payments, refunds and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, while supporting colleagues and customers with a range of queries. Working closely with the Finance Officer – Rents and wider finance team, you'll maintain financial records, investigate discrepancies, produce reports and contribute to projects that improve processes and efficiency. The role offers exposure to a variety of finance activities and the opportunity to build strong relationships with colleagues across the Group.

Skills and Experience Needed

  • Highly organised and methodical, comfortable working with large volumes of data.
  • Experience using database systems and undertaking account reconciliations.
  • Ability to process information accurately and confidently challenge data where required.
  • Strong communication skills for working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective workload management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly and straightforwardly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Good understanding of banking transactions such as Direct Debits, Standing Orders and BACS.
  • A positive, proactive approach and adaptability to changing priorities.

The salary for these roles is £26,031 per annum (full-time equivalent, 37 hours per week), with agile working and a base location of Newport, Swansea or Cardiff.
