At Pobl Group, this role is best known as Project Worker. Our Supported Housing accommodation team in Caerphilly are looking for a full-time Project Worker to join their team. The service provides support & accommodation to vulnerable people experiencing homelessness and requiring extra support.
What is great about this role?
Tŷ Croeso is a 10-bed supported living accommodation that provides support to people who are experiencing homelessness aged 18 and over. This is mainly a Lone Working role but also a very rewarding one. You will be working with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds, some of whom may have experienced trauma and may have complex needs, suffering with their mental health as well as low level substance and alcohol issues. Supporting people to make positive, informed choices to move forwards in their lives to enable them to manage their tenancies and so preventing further homelessness. Every day is different, you’ll be learning new skills and have opportunity to work with a variety of agencies for the benefit of our clients. We engage with the people we support through positive meaningful activities and provide a Psychologically Informed Environment.

Your day will consist of:
- As a Project Worker you will lead each shift by managing the scheme and overseeing the Scheme Support Officers.
- Engaging and interacting with our service users.
- Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting.
- Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing.
- Liaising with external agencies.
- Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have.
Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.
Who we are looking for:
- Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems.
- Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills.
- Can work part of a team and on an individual basis.
- Deal with difficult situations.
- Have good listening skills.
It is essential for the successful candidate to have a full drivers licence & access to a vehicle.
