Overview

At Pobl Group, this role is best known as Floating Support Worker. We have an opportunity for a compassionate, authentic and motivated person to join our Floating Support service in North-Powys on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be required to deliver tenancy related support to customers around the Newtown, Welshpool and Machynlleth area.

It is essential for the successful candidate to have access to a car, hold a full driver’s licence, and be happy to transport customers in their car.

Our focus is not just on providing housing related support; you have the autonomy to come up with innovative ideas, support people to have new experiences and learn new skills. You will support people to access external services for other needs such as mental health and/or substance misuse. We strive to ensure that everyone we support receives the best possible support to enable and empower them to regain control of their life and sustain their independence. Joining our Floating Support team offers opportunities to learn and grow within the support sector. You will work with talented and experienced people whose passion is to support our customers. No two days are the same, and it is especially rewarding when you see an individual’s development and they move on into their own tenancy.

Your day will consist of

  • Encourage and motivate customers to engage with their community and develop life and social skills
  • Provide housing-related support to help customers take on and maintain a tenancy to prevent homelessness
  • Offer advice, information and support to customers
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks related to the job, including developing risk assessments, support plans and risk management plans
  • Manage a caseload of customers with varying needs and levels of support
  • Liaise and work closely with other agencies and professionals to meet customers\’ needs
  • Assist customers with potential benefits and help them register with healthcare providers

Benefits

  • Full-time, 37hrs
  • The exact salary for these positions is £24,531.00
  • Work pattern: Monday to Friday office hours, flexibility required depending on customer needs
  • Base/location: Office is based in Newtown, Powys; you will deliver support to customers in their own homes around the Newtown, Welshpool and Machynlleth area
  • 26 days holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays (Pro Rata)
