A part-time, permanent Scheme Support Officer at our Young Persons Support Accommodation Service, Llys Awen, Gorseinon. The role requires flexibility to shifts across days, evenings, weekends and waking nights.

About the Role
Llys Awen provides 24-hour temporary supported accommodation in the Gorseinon area of Swansea for young people aged 16 to 21. The staff team work in a psychology-informed environment. Our Scheme Support Officers enable young people to achieve their goals and empower them to lead independent lives. This is a rewarding career opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people realise their potential. You will act as a first point of contact and build positive relationships to help residents transition into independent living. You will provide budgeting and money management advice, including welfare benefits, and support practical day-to-day living skills.
Responsibilities
- Engage with the people we support to help them connect with other services
- Support Project Workers in delivering workshops on tenancy management and health and wellbeing
- Carry out health and safety checks and wellbeing checks within the scheme
- Address additional needs of the people we support
- Build community links and establish partnerships that benefit our customers
You will be faced with complex behaviours and needs. You will work with a range of personalities and must adapt your approach to engage with a diverse client base and manage disputes appropriately.

- A passion to work with and enable people to live as independently as possible
- Strong initiative and the ability to work alone as well as in a team
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
It would be desirable for the successful candidate to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
