A full‑time, permanent Scheme Support Officer position is available in our supported housing service at Janner House, Cardiff. The role requires working on a rolling rota which includes days and sleep‑in shifts (additional £62.64 sleep‑in payment).
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Project Workers in delivering support to people accessing the service, helping them set realistic goals around independent living, confidence building, training, employment and overall health and wellbeing.
- Support and engage people to achieve their full potential.
- Build rapport with vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, provide appropriate support and advice.
- Work within a team, prioritise tasks and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
- Develop networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies and encourage community engagement.
- Adapt your approach to meet the needs of clients with complex behaviours, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and anti‑social or offending behaviour.
- Respond to challenging and emergency situations appropriately.
Skills and experience required
- Relevant experience or transferable skills in supporting vulnerable populations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to demonstrate the right attitudes in line with Codi Values.
- IT literacy.
- Ability to work well within a team and prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness.
