Where Does the Role Fit In?
Powys Floating Support delivers support to individuals in their own homes across the South Powys area. We also provide support in our two accommodation schemes, both based in Brecon—one of which is a young person’s service.
The temporary Supported Accommodation service supports individuals who have experienced homelessness. Referrals for accommodation are received from the Local Authority Housing Team. Individuals may have varying support needs, such as mental health issues, substance misuse, or a history of offending.
You will support these individuals to develop independent living skills, enabling them to manage their temporary accommodation and prepare to move on to sustainable, independent living.
What’s Great About This Opportunity?
Our team supports vulnerable individuals to develop key skills that help prevent homelessness, improve financial capability, promote resettlement into the community, and achieve positive progression.
You will play a key role in enabling individuals to achieve their goals and empowering them to lead independent lives.
You will manage your own caseload, supported by the Manager and Lead Project Worker, while working flexibly across the South Powys area. This is a varied, challenging, and rewarding role within a committed team delivering high-quality support.
Every day is different, offering the opportunity to learn new skills and work with a variety of agencies including housing services, DWP, social services, the police, and health professionals.
Day-to-Day Duties
Your role will be hands-on, working collaboratively with the people we support to help them achieve their goals and transition into independent tenancies. This is a unique and rewarding role where you’ll get to see the impact of your support firsthand.
Your Day Will Include
- Engaging and interacting with the people we support
- Writing and following support plans
- Delivering workshops on tenancy management, health, and wellbeing
- Liaising with external agencies
