Summary
We’re looking to appoint a Project Management Assistant to join our Development Team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This role has become available due to career progression within the business. The role supports our South East Wales projects, operates with agile working, and is based either in Newport or Cardiff. It offers an opportunity for someone who enjoys organised, meaningful work and wants to support the delivery of new homes and refurbishment schemes that make a difference across Wales, while developing a career in housing development and project management.
Overview
As a Project Management Assistant, you’ll play an important supporting role in the delivery of our development programme. You’ll work alongside Project Managers to coordinate projects, manage information, and ensure a smooth customer journey from build through to handover.
A key part of the role involves supporting the handover process and managing defects, ensuring issues are recorded, tracked, and resolved within agreed timescales. You’ll also help maintain accurate project data, support reporting, and keep key documentation organised and up to date.
This is a varied and hands‑on role that spans the full lifecycle of schemes—from construction through completion—providing ample opportunity to build your knowledge of housing development.
Skills and Experience Needed
You should be organised, proactive and genuinely focused on delivering a good customer experience. You’ll be comfortable managing a busy workload, keeping accurate records and working across a range of tasks, while staying calm under pressure.
Experience working with customers and confidence communicating with a range of people are essential. Attention to detail is important, as is the ability to understand requests and respond in a clear and practical way.
You enjoy working as part of a team, supporting colleagues and building positive relationships with internal teams, contractors and partners. You are confident using IT systems such as Microsoft Office and willing to learn new systems to manage project information.
An understanding of housing, development or construction would be helpful, but isn’t essential. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are required. You may be asked to support properties across West Wales.
