Summary

A full-time, permanent Floating Support Worker, working across our Support Accommodation sites in Newport. You will be required to work day shifts Monday – Friday, although flexibility is required.

About The Role

This is a Floating Support Officer role delivering support across our Supported accommodation service, in Newport.

You will work with talented and experienced people who have a passion for supporting individuals experiencing challenging times whilst homeless. No two days are the same and it’s especially rewarding when you are a part of an individual’s development and growth.

Your Day With Consist Of

  • Conducting needs assessments and person centred support plans
  • Provide practical and emotional support to the individuals you support
  • Provide support around housing challenges, mental health issues, substance misuse issues and other complex needs.
  • Assisting with sustaining and securing suitable accommodation
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Developing your networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies
  • Monitoring the safety of the shared accommodation sites including maintenance, Fire safety and daily checks
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sites

Skills And Experience Needed

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Organisation and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A non-judgmental and empathetic approach
  • It is essential that the successful candidate has a drivers licence and access to a car.
