We are seeking patient, compassionate, and positive women to join our committed team at our Supported Living service in Risca, providing essential support to individuals with physical and learning disabilities. We have a 20-hour, permanent position available with a sleep-in shift as extra. This service operates 24/7 and requires flexibility across shifts, including:
- Day shifts: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Evening shifts: 3:30 pm – 9:30 pm
- Sleep-in shifts: worked in addition to day or evening shifts, providing an extra 9 hours per sleep-in.
You will work as part of a rolling rota that ensures consistent support for the individuals in our care and flexibility is key to success in this role. Due to the specific needs of the individuals we support, this role is only open to applicants who are biologically female. A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role, as driving mobility vehicles is a key requirement to support those in our care.
This dynamic service supports four individuals with physical and learning disabilities. As part of our team, you’ll help them build skills, participate in daily activities, and lead active, fulfilling lives within the community. Our team prides itself on a passionate commitment to celebrating each individual’s milestones, big or small.
Key Duties
- Providing person-centered support for daily needs, including personal care (showering, bathing, brushing teeth, continence care, etc.).
- Assisting with mobility, including the use of hoists and wheelchairs.
- Supporting dietary needs and food preparation.
- Offering emotional support.
- Completing cleaning and digital administrative tasks.
- Administering and managing medication.
- Monitoring individual medication stocks and finances.
- Bringing innovative ideas to improve team practices.
Skills and Experience
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. Experience evidence of:
- IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
- Experience working as part of a team and customer service skills
Pay and Pensions
£25,877 (£13.45 per hour) Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8-hour shift – approx. one per week. Waking night rate: 20% enhancement from 11 pm to 7 am Enhanced DBS – covered by employer Social Care Wales registration – fully reimbursed Pension choices:
