As a newly created role within the Group, this position offers a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change, drive continuous improvement, and work collaboratively with internal teams, tenants, regulators and external partners. You will operate as the organisation’s Competent Person for Building Safety, giving you strategic ownership of building safety frameworks, safety cases and compliance systems. You will work alongside the Property & Investment leadership team and be an active member of the Customer Safety Group, allowing you to influence decision‑making at the highest level, while keeping tenants at the heart of building safety. You will play a central role in delivering compliance with the Building Safety Act (Wales), with the authority, visibility and support to make a real difference to building safety outcomes and tenant confidence.

This full‑time, permanent role offers agile working and an excellent work–life balance, alongside the opportunity to lead on building safety at a strategic level. You will ensure full compliance across the group and lead the organisation’s Building Safety Framework, policies and statutory duties. A key focus of the role is developing and maintaining Building Safety Cases and embedding Golden Thread principles, ensuring accurate, accessible and up‑to‑date safety information for the group. You will work closely with residents, regulators and key partners, including the Building Safety Authority and Fire & Rescue Services, to provide assurance, manage risk and maintain Building Assurance Certificates. The role includes providing visible leadership across high‑risk buildings, overseeing compliance, and using Codi systems to manage safety controls, fire safety measures and statutory actions.
You will be an accomplished leader with a strong track record of managing teams and driving cross‑functional compliance work. Working comfortably in a customer‑focused setting, you will champion resident engagement and deliver clear, inclusive, and people‑centred outcomes. You will have solid experience in statutory compliance, health & safety, and/or building safety management, including managing compliance systems and building safety information. Confident operating in regulated environments, you will have experience working with external enforcement bodies such as Fire Authorities, Local Authorities and the Building Safety Regulator in England if applicable, as well as leading audits, inspections, and strategic‑level risk assessments. You will be educated to post‑graduate level in a relevant discipline or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. You will also hold a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and a recognised Fire Safety qualification accredited by IFE or IFSM (or equivalent).

Pay and Pensions: ÂŁ63,731.00 per annum. Pension Choices: Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%.
