We're looking for an Automation Apprentice to join our team and help shape how we use technology to make work easier, faster and more efficient across Codi Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys logical thinking, spotting patterns and improving processes.
As an Automation Assistant Apprentice, you'll help colleagues across Codi Group identify opportunities to improve the way we work through automation, digital tools and smarter processes. Working alongside colleagues from Finance, IT and operational teams, you'll support the development of workflow solutions, help document and analyse business processes, explore ways technology can improve productivity, and use data to identify opportunities for improvement across the organisation.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, motivated and eager to learn. You’ll enjoy solving problems, thinking logically and finding better ways of doing things. You don’t need to have worked in automation before, but you should have an interest in technology, digital tools and how they can improve the way people work. This role would suit someone who enjoys analysing information, spotting patterns and asking questions.
You’ll be comfortable working with different people across the organisation, confident to ask questions, challenge existing ways of working and help identify practical solutions that improve efficiency and outcomes. An interest in data analysis, Microsoft Excel, automation tools, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies would be beneficial, although full training and support will be provided.
To be eligible for the Degree Apprenticeship in Applied Data Science, you’ll need to meet Cardiff Metropolitan University’s entry requirements, which currently include:
- Three A Levels at grades CCC (or 104–112 UCAS Tariff points).
- Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English Language and Mathematics/Mathematics Numeracy.
This is a three-year Degree Apprenticeship opportunity, with a salary of £24,454.04 and a 37-hour working week, including dedicated time for university study and attendance. The role will involve travel between our Newport, Cardiff and Swansea offices, as well as attending practical workshops at Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Llandaff campus as part of the Degree Apprenticeship programme.
