A Full-time, permanent, Floating Support Worker, working with individuals who are experiencing homelessness in the Merthyr Tydfil area. You will be required to work Monday – Friday office hours although flexibility is required to meet the needs of our customers. You will also be required to hold a driving licence and have access to a car.

Our Merthyr Floating Support Service plays a vital role in tackling homelessness by providing practical support and opportunities for people experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. This is a rewarding and varied role, with much of your time spent in the community. Working in this role, you will support people with complex needs and challenging circumstances. You will work directly with individuals who are living in temporary accommodation or in their own homes. You will carry out housing and support assessments, develop personalised support plans, and help them achieve positive outcomes. This includes assisting with resettlement, tenancy sustainment, and ongoing support tailored to individual needs.
Success in this role requires a flexible and adaptable approach, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of people.

- Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives.
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player.
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations.

- Ability to work with external agencies and signpost the people we support to the appropriate services suited to their needs, specifically treatment and mental health services.
