We have an opportunity for a passionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Floating Support Service in Newport on a full-time permanent basis.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a driver's license and access to a vehicle.

The Lighthouse 4 Project delivers housing-related support to people struggling to maintain their tenancy in Newport. This service supports individuals with their housing needs and issues, aiming to prevent homelessness and help them maintain their home and independence.

This is a varied, fast-paced role where you will work with a diverse range of people and make a real difference in their lives. You will have autonomy to structure your week to provide the best support, working closely with other services and agencies to tailor support to each individual. This role is highly rewarding, especially when you see clients achieve their goals. Day To Day Tasks

  • Managing your own caseload and electronic diary
  • Following safe working practices, such as the Lone Working Policy
  • Traveling to clients’ homes or neutral venues as needed
  • Engaging positively with clients to establish and work towards goals
  • Providing support, advice, and guidance on finances, health, welfare benefits, housing options, digital inclusion, and tenancy management
  • Working with external agencies and signposting clients to appropriate services

Our aim is to equip clients with the knowledge and tools to manage their homes independently. This can be challenging, involving complex situations and difficult conversations, behaviours, and needs. You will need to be organized, well-prepared, and creative. Experience in providing one-to-one support in a housing support environment is preferred.

Pobl Benefits

  • Full-time (37 hours), permanent
  • Salary: £24,531.00
  • Work pattern: Mostly Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with some weekend flexibility
  • 26 days (pro-rata) holiday plus Bank Holidays

  • Bespoke learning pathways and internal progression opportunities
  • Mileage allowance: 45p per mile
