We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals with great customer service skills to join our catering team preparing and serving tasty and nutritious meals for tenants in Codi Extra Care Service, Maesteg, Bridgend. As a Food Service Assistant you will play a key role in making mealtimes something residents look forward to. This is an 18‑hour permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Help prepare and serve food, lay and clear tables, and keep kitchen clean, tidy and safe.
- Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas and washing dishes.
- Support the catering team during busy periods, including plating and tidying.
Qualifications / Attributes:
- Strong communication skills – greet tenants warmly and explain menu options clearly.
- Basic understanding of dietary and nutritional needs – follow simple guidelines for vegetarian or allergen‑friendly meals.
- Hands‑on approach to kitchen duties – setting up tables, washing dishes and keeping everything spotless.
- Team player with a flexible attitude – help with plating up or tidying when things get busy, and maintain a positive, supportive, inclusive attitude towards colleagues and tenants.
- Clean and safe – take pride in keeping the kitchen spotless and understand Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements.
Pay & Benefits:
- Annual salary of £24,563.
