Weekend Client Advisor

POAN Β· Part-time, 16–20 hours Β· 37 Soho Square, London W1D

POAN is a London house on Soho Square. We make ready-to-wear for an audience that reads, looks and listens as seriously as it buys β€” people who know Margiela and Dries Van Noten and want something with the same intelligence behind it.

We are small. One store, one team, and whoever is on the floor talks directly to the founder. If you have a view on how a collection should be shown or worn, you will be asked for it and it will actually change something. That is not true in most shops.

This is not a job where you wait for someone to walk in. We sell by appointment, by WhatsApp and by video, to clients we know by name. Saturdays and the two late evenings are when that happens, and this seat owns them.

The hours

Saturday, plus Thursday and Friday 17:00–20:00. Sixteen fixed hours a week.

There are up to four further hours a week available by agreement, weighted towards November and December. The three fixed slots are the ones that matter β€” beyond those, we can shape it around whatever else you have on.

What you get on day one

A book of 52 clients β€” real people who bought from us in the last twelve months at an average order of Β£688, and who nobody has followed up since. They are yours to work.

Most weekend retail jobs hand you a rota. This one hands you a client list.

Pay

Β£14.00 an hour, plus 5% commission on everything you sell, from the first pound, uncapped β€” including when a colleague rings up a sale to one of your clients. At target that is Β£13,150 a year on the sixteen fixed hours, and more if you take the extra ones.

What the job actually is

  • Opening and closing the store on Saturdays
  • Hosting at least four booked appointments a week across Friday evening and Saturday
  • Filming and sending personal videos to your clients β€” new arrivals, styling, whatever gets a reply
  • Adding ten new contacts a week to the client system
  • Logging every conversation, so whoever picks the client up next knows where you left off

Who this suits

Someone who has sold clothes to people they know by name, and would rather build ten relationships than serve a hundred strangers. A retail or hospitality background, comfortable on camera, organised enough to keep proper notes.

You do not need years in luxury. You do need to be reliable on a Saturday β€” it is the day the store depends on, and there is nobody behind you.

How to apply

Send a CV. We read them properly, and how you write yours tells us something real about this job β€” most of the selling here happens in a written message to a client.

There are four short questions with the application. If you get to a final conversation, we will ask you to send a two-minute video about one piece from the collection. Not a screen test β€” we just want to see how you talk about clothes.

Practical

You must have the right to work in the UK. We check this before any paid trial, not after. Start date is early October.
