As an Assistant Treasury Accountant, you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role will be to provide assistance to the Group Treasury Accountant in the administration, reporting and compliance of both departmental and company functional related undertakings.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Group Treasury Accountant on updating daily bank balances, monitoring and actioning treasury emails, dealing with operational and finance department queries, and cash flow βactualsβ.
- Coordinating with contacts at our joint venture company to ensure timely payment of haulage costs.
- Processing bank charge invoices and matching on Accounts Payable ledger.
- Downloading bank statements and uploading to Unit 4, reconciling and chasing for un-reconciled items.
- Providing support with weekly payment runs, including posting manual payments, direct debits, cross currency and cross company journals.
- Providing support during auditing and year-end, gathering payment evidence and approval support.
- Maintaining a weekly task list, listing open projects and weekly progress made.
- Providing monthly balance sheet reconciliation for Treasury related control accounts.
- Providing cover for the Group Treasury Accountant to gather receipt forecast data from the Credit Controllers, collate and update the cash flow forecast.
Your profile:
You will be a professional and pro-active Assistant Treasury Accountant who understands the crucial importance of effective communication and is willing to assist others who may not have the level of specialised knowledge in this field. Experience within a multi-currency finance department required, preferably within the Transport industry. Good knowledge and understanding of MS Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel. Ability to problem solve. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and able to work as an effective team member. Ability to organise work well under pressure and prioritise a demanding workload.
