The Fleet Senior Executive Chef is a vital role here at P&O Cruises in ensuring the consistent delivery of the Culinary Operational standards across the fleet. Your job will be to continuously look to improve and drive innovation, whilst having the confidence to implement new initiatives. Delivering all operational and service standards within the brand guidelines will be fundamental to you providing unforgettable holiday happiness to all our guests.

As Fleet Senior Executive Chef, you’ll report in to the Senior Manager, Culinary Operation & Inventory and travel around the fleet to work alongside the onboard Executive Chefs and their teams. As you will be working with all ships in the P&O fleet, this role means extensive travel from ship to ship within your assignment periods. You will be responsible for developing talent and future leaders, ensuring seamless flow of progression for new joiners up to Executive Chef and Inventory Manager positions, actively involved in creation of training plans with Learning & Development.

Are you a natural communicator and can train and develop our staff to make sure our products are consistently a high standard and most of all taste amazing? Can you spot others' strengths and weaknesses in order to work on these to ensure our staff are constantly learning and developing themselves?

P&O Cruises require the following experience:

  • An experienced Executive Chef in a large cruise ship is preferred. Multi-venue, high volume, luxury hotel, casino or resort will be considered.
  • A high level of in-depth knowledge of high-volume Culinary Operations and delivery across a wide range of cuisines with hands-on culinary experience.
  • A strong understanding of cruise ship F&B/Hotel F&B operations and strong understanding of food cost, stock ordering and inventory process.
  • Experience of managing team performance and clear track record of developing people effectively in a commercial culinary environment.
  • Full understanding of food cost, stock, order and inventory process.
  • Experience of identifying and implementing culinary best practice and contributing to cross-functional change programmes including organisational change, role and rewards structure.
