We are seeking an experienced Senior Innovation Consultant to join our UK team. The role involves guiding organisations through the funding landscape and supporting the development of innovative technologies, products, and services. Ideal candidates will have experience in ICT, Energy & Environment, or Life Sciences and a track record of securing UK and European funding.
What are you going to do?
To support innovative businesses and research organisations in translating their R&D ambitions into successful grant-funded projects, and to help drive sustainable technological and societal impact.
Build and manage long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Identify relevant UK and EU funding opportunities (e.g., Innovate UK, Horizon Europe).
Analyse client innovation potential through market and technology research.
Write persuasive, high-quality grant proposals aligned with funding criteria.
Develop business cases, impact narratives, and exploitation plans.
Guide clients in strategic project positioning and proposal design.
Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
Represent PNO at industry events and in external networks.

About you
Master’s degree or PhD in a technical, scientific, or engineering field.
At least 5 years of experience in innovation consultancy or R&D funding.
Proven success in writing and securing public grants (UK or EU).
Sector expertise in ICT, Energy & Environment, or Life Sciences.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Commercially aware with account or business development experience.
Willingness to travel in the UK and Europe when required.
