We are seeking a confident and reliable Duty Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy sports bar. You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff during shifts, maintaining operational standards, and creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere—especially during peak times and sporting events.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Service
- Oversee smooth day-to-day operations of the sports bar during your shift
- Ensure high standards of customer service are consistently delivered
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally
- Monitor cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the bar and seating areas
- Ensure all health & safety and licensing regulations are followed
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and support bar staff, servers, and floor team during shifts
- Delegate tasks and ensure team performance meets service standards
- Assist with staff training and onboarding where required
- Lead by example to maintain a positive team environment
- Sales & Performance
- Drive sales through upselling, promotions, and event nights
- Support the delivery of key sporting events and themed promotions
- Monitor cash handling, tills, and end-of-shift reconciliation
- Help achieve revenue targets and control wastage
- Stock & Compliance
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory checks
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of stock
- Maintain compliance with licensing laws and age verification policies
- Report any maintenance or operational issues promptly
Key Skills Required
- Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in a bar or sports venue
- Experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good knowledge of sports events (preferred but not essential)
- Cash handling and basic administrative skills
