We are seeking a reliable and diligent Cleaning Team Member to join our team at our new Sports Bar opening in Middlesborough. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, and presentation across a busy, fast‑paced venue. You will support daily cleaning routines, contribute to deep‑clean tasks, and help ensure a welcoming environment for guests. Various days available however shifts will be 8am to 11am.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, bathrooms and corridors to company standards.
- Complete assigned cleaning schedules and checklists accurately and on time.
- Carry out daily waste collection, segregation and disposal, and support recycling initiatives.
- Perform routine floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and spot cleaning.
- Undertake periodic deep‑cleaning duties such as steam cleaning, high‑level dusting and restroom deep cleans.
- Clean and sanitise equipment, surfaces and touchpoints in line with hygiene and infection‑control procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, damage or health & safety concerns to management promptly.
- Support team members and cover duties as required during busy periods or staff absence.
- Ensure safe handling, storage and use of cleaning chemicals and supplies, following COSHH guidance and company procedures.
- Assist with basic stock rotation and reordering of cleaning supplies when necessary.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a cleaning or facilities role preferred.
- Good attention to detail with a strong work ethic and reliable approach to duties.
- Ability to follow instructions, complete checklists and work with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, safe working practices and manual handling.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and performing physical tasks.
- Flexible availability on days.
- Clear communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
Desirable:
- Formal training in cleaning, COSHH or Health & Safety (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working in hospitality or retail.
- Basic use of handheld cleaning machinery (vacuum, scrubber dryer) and willingness to be trained.
