Our client PNAS tx Ltd is currently looking for a Research Scientist – Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) to join its team in the UK.
Location: Oxford, UK; up to 20% travel to Korea
About PNAS tx LtdPnaseer (Korea) and PNAS tx (UK) are sister companies operating under shared leadership, focused on drug delivery system (DDS) platform development and advanced formulation technologies. Their portfolio spans IV-to-SC reformulation, topical gel development for dermatology, injectable hydrogels, and multi-API delivery. The UK entity, PNAS tx, leads pharma and DDS programmes in close collaboration with the Korea R&D team.
Key Responsibilities- Priority Platform Research — IV-to-SC Biologics Delivery
- Lead and execute priority R&D projects focused on IV-to-SC conversion of biologics and antibody therapeutics, including ultra-high-load protein and mAb formulation development.
- Design and conduct formulation, stability, analytical characterisation, and in vitro evaluation studies to support subcutaneous biologic delivery and developability decisions.
- Apply formulation and assay insights to antibody therapeutic programmes, including oncology relevant biologics, potency, stability, viscosity, aggregation, and comparability assessments.
- Coordinate access to specialist analytical and characterisation capabilities through Oxford University, Oxford Brookes University, and the wider Oxford innovation ecosystem.
- Cross-entity Collaboration
- Act as the scientific bridge between PNAS Therapeutics (UK) and Pnaseer (Korea), facilitating knowledge transfer and joint project delivery.
- Participate in regular cross-entity research meetings and progress reviews.
- Reporting, Documentation & Data Packages
- Maintain detailed experimental records in an electronic lab notebook, ensuring clear data tracking, traceability, and data integrity across formulation, analytical, stability, and functional assay work.
- Prepare technical reports, grant deliverables, regulatory-support documentation, and partner- or licensing-ready data packages.
- Support intellectual property documentation, patent preparation, scientific publications, and the formatting of key data for investor presentation materials as required.
- Essential
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of postdoctoral and/or industry research experience in drug delivery systems or advanced formulation development.
- Technical expertise in at least two of the following areas: injectable formulation, biologic formulation, topical/semi-solid formulation, nanoparticle formulation.
- Hands-on experience in analytical and biophysical characterisation of biologic formulations.
- Experience with cell culture and functional in vitro assays; experience with biologics or oncology programmes is desirable.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.

- Experience in a start-up, spin-out, or early-stage biotech environment.
- Familiarity with UK grant processes or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with Korean academic or commercial research partners.
- Knowledge of dermatology or aesthetic medicine applications.
- Fluent written and spoken English; Korean language skills are advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent scientific communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
- Right to work in the UK.
