THE ROLE

As Senior Event Technology Programme Manager, you will take ownership of major technology projects and programmes, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest operational standards. You will manage projects involving technologies such as:

  • IT Infrastructure
  • Network & Communications Systems
  • Audio Visual Solutions
  • Connectivity & WiFi
  • Structured Cabling

You will work closely with clients, partners, suppliers, venue operators, and internal delivery teams while playing a key role in maintaining and growing long‑term client relationships. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong leadership, operational delivery capability, commercial awareness, and excellent stakeholder management skills.

ABOUT YOU

You are an organised and solutions‑focused project leader who enjoys working in dynamic environments where no two days are the same. You understand the pressures and pace of live event delivery and can confidently lead teams, manage stakeholders, and make decisions in operational environments. You bring a balance of technical understanding, commercial awareness, and strong interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of major technology projects and event programmes across sports, entertainment, and live events.
  • Manage project planning, scheduling, installation, commissioning, operational support, and decommissioning activities.
  • Coordinate internal teams, contractors, freelancers, suppliers, and technical partners to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, venue teams, and delivery partners.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, reporting, and commercial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to expand project scope and support additional revenue generation across PMY services.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed scope, timelines, quality standards, and governance processes.
  • Support onsite operational delivery during live events and critical project phases.
  • Champion Health & Safety standards and contribute to a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, resource planning, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years’ project management experience within sports, events, entertainment, venue technology, or related industries.
  • Experience delivering complex technology or infrastructure projects in live operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of event technology ecosystems including IT, communications, AV, networking, or connectivity solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite for extended periods during major events.
  • Eligibility to work within the UK and EMEA region.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL certification.
  • Experience working on major international sporting events.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Degree qualification or equivalent industry experience.
