The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Responsibilities include delivering twenty-four hour support for all technology infrastructure needs and issues, for an environment including 5 Windows and 8 Linux based servers and 200 desktops and laptops (Windows, MAC and Linux) across three regional offices.

Efficiently implemented network file sharing by configuring NFS to share files and resources across the network. Managing cron jobs, batch processing and job scheduling. Hands-on experience in protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, FTP.

Installed and configured SSH, SFTP, managed email (Postfix and Sendmail), LDAP. Installed Apache, IIS and configured Virtual hosts and also experience applying SSL certs for websites, CSR generation. Installation of SAMBA utility software. Created file systems using Logical Volume Management (LVM), LV Extend and Reduce.

Provided systems and server management and oversight and resolution of network/connectivity and software issues for local and remote users. Worked with Server OS performing setup, maintenance and troubleshooting for Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008. Responsible for building, configuring, and supporting workstations and servers.

Performed hardware builds (upgrades and new machines), set up offsite backup systems, and contributed to system migrations. Good hands-on experience in building/managing Virtual Machines in Oracle and VMware virtual environments.

Experience in Windows Domain Controller, Active Directory configuration, users and group creation and management, folder permissions, network sharing, backup and maintenance. Responsible for implementing and supporting Microsoft Office (2000, 2007, 2010) technologies. Responsible for LAN/WAN administration and support.

Responsible for upgraded and maintenance of server hardware components as per requirement. Worked with different hardware and software vendors to troubleshoot the hardware and software problems. Strong technical knowledge on Domain (Maintain and updating Domains CName and A Records in Godaddy.com, securepaynet.net, Net4in, Hostgator).

Installed, configured and managed databases MS SQL 2000/2005 Server on Windows. As the sole technical person, responsible for all technical matters, including architecture, purchasing, hardware/software setup, application installation, ongoing maintenance, desktop technical support to staff and clients, data backup, antivirus installations etc.

Good team player with excellent work history regarding work ethics, dependability and willingness to go the extra mile.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2003/2008) /desktop Operating Systems (XP/7).
  • Managing in excess of 50 Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Managing deployments/rollouts.
  • Managing large scale Citrix/2X/Terminal Server installations.
  • Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft HyperV/Virtual Server.
  • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional-CCNA/ CCNP MCITP Server.
  • Group Policy design and configuration.
  • Microsoft IIS administration and configuration.
  • Migration of Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
  • Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues including backbone infrastructure issues.
  • LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length.
  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.
  • Must be a team player.
