Job Description
We are currently hiring for a Handyman/ Maintenance Operative to work on a residential block based in SW London. The Handyman role provides general maintenance support around the development, to ensure the building is kept to a high standard.
This role would initially be a temporary position, with the view to go permanent should you do well on site.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Temp Rate: £16 per hour + Holiday Pay
Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum
Duties:
- Painting and Decorating – as required
- Joinery – first line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples: tightening screws on window hinges, maintenance on door handles, minor repairs as a temporary measure, vandalism etc.
- Plumbing – unblocking sinks, traps and waste pipes. Adjustment and replacement of washers for taps etc
- To clean and maintain electrical fittings, test lighting systems regularly replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes, bulbs fuse starters and diffusers, in accordance with working practices.
- To arrange to clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps etc. And clean up spillages as required.
- To ensure that gullies, gutters, drains etc, are kept free from debris and that the development grounds are free of litter.
- Emergency light testing.
- To organise and undertake a pre-planned preventative maintenance schedule.
