Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable, proactive and hands-on Estate Operative to join the onsite team at a high end residential development in West London. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the presentation, cleanliness and day-to-day operation of the development, ensuring communal areas are kept to a high standard and residents receive a professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine cleaning and upkeep of internal and external communal areas, including entrances, corridors, stairwells and estate grounds.
- Conduct regular estate inspections, identifying and reporting maintenance issues, defects and potential hazards.
- Manage refuse and recycling areas, ensuring bins and bin stores are kept clean, tidy and well maintained.
- Assist with general waste management duties across the development.
- Provide access to contractors and support with contractor activity onsite when required.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and report any concerns promptly.
- Assist residents with general estate-related queries, providing a polite and professional service.
- Support the wider onsite team with general operational and hands-on duties as required.
- Help maintain consistently high standards of presentation throughout the development.
Requirements
- Previous experience within an Estate Operative, Caretaker, Cleaning or similar hands-on residential role.
- Experience working within a residential development or similar customer-facing environment would be advantageous.
- Comfortable carrying out cleaning, waste management and other physical duties.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proactive approach with the ability to identify and report issues.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of an onsite team.
- Reliable, flexible and committed to maintaining high standards.
