A home from home situated in lovely premises, providing high quality childcare for children from 6 months to 5 years. Our nursery is small and friendly with a maximum of 24 children per day.

About your role

As a Deputy Manager with plenty of drive, you will closely support the manager and staff in the operational functions of our lovely nursery in Ivybridge. Your main outcomes must be:

  • Play, learn, grow and be
  • All staff model great values and behaviours for the children
  • Quality of care is always outstanding
  • Safest of premises, always looking out for potential risks
  • Happy staff means happy children means happy parents
  • Being a great staff coach and training the teams to excellence
  • Communicating your excellent active knowledge of the EYFS welfare, learning and development at all times
  • Room-based leading an age group
  • Be confident in fulfilling the requirements of your role

The balance of office to being with the children should be about 1:3.

Spring and Summer are coming! A wonderful time to enjoy being outdoors. We are lucky enough to have a site nestled in a lovely area of nature, and to have a large and fabulous garden environment. Our aim is to be an outdoors nursery wherever possible, so you will want to prioritise the smooth running of the children's lovely day in their garden.

Philosophy

‘In the moment’ planning is a child-centred approach, which encourages children’s natural desire to explore and learn. It’s about letting the children choose what to do, while adults join them in their play, observe what children do, and support their development at the time of children playing.

  • Experienced as a Deputy Nursery Manager (minimum 6 months)
