We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Pre-Construction Department. The role involves the design, development, and coordination of electrical building services systems across a range of projects, from concept through to completion. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, clients, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality, compliant electrical designs, while supporting junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop electrical design solutions in accordance with project briefs, applicable standards, and client requirements.
- Produce and coordinate electrical design drawings and specifications, including:
- LV power distribution
- Lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Small power
- Containment layouts
- Schedules and schematics
- Undertake and review electrical calculations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations, including BS 7671 and project-specific requirements.
- Coordinate electrical designs with other building services disciplines and architectural layouts.
- Attend client, design, and coordination meetings as required.
- Respond to technical queries during design development and construction phases.
- Support the preparation of technical reports and design documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to Junior Engineers and CAD Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, quality standards, and health.
