PMK Electrical is an established electrical contractor delivering installation, compliance, and maintenance services across the UK and Ireland. We are looking for a highly organised and dependable administrator to join our team as a Document Controller. This role is ideally suited to someone with strong administrative experience who is looking to move into, or develop further within, the construction or engineering sector. Full training will be provided.
The Role
- You will support the control and coordination of project documentation across live electrical projects, ensuring that teams are working from accurate and up-to-date information.
- You will work closely with both the Pre-Construction and Contracts Delivery teams, supporting activities across tender, design, and live project stages.
- This is a structured, process-driven role where organisation, attention to detail, and consistency are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage document control systems across live projects.
- Register, track, and distribute drawings, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Ensure teams are working from the latest approved drawings and revisions.
- Coordinate document flow between office teams, site staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Maintain accurate document registers, trackers, and filing systems.
- Assist with Design & Build (D&B) tender submissions, including compiling and formatting documentation.
- Support supply chain engagement, issuing enquiries and tracking responses.
- Assist with technical submittals, ensuring documents are complete, well-presented, and aligned with project requirements.
- Support compliance documentation in line with BS 7671.
- Assist in preparing O&M manuals and as-built documentation for project handover.
- Produce and maintain simple reports to track document status and outstanding actions.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to manage workload effectively.
- Comfortable working with systems, processes, and structured information.
- A proactive, planning-led approach to work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with different teams.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience within construction, engineering, or a technical environment.
- Experience using document management systems (e.g. Aconex, Asite, Procore).
- Familiarity with drawings or technical documentation.
